In January 1997 SEER Ministries started printing The Word For Today in Romania, where the books were produced by hand and the first print run was 2,400 copies. The printing increased to 9,000 copies in less than 12 months, so the work expanded to an out-building of the house in order to accommodate the increased production. Through much prayer and blessing the work grew further and SEER Ministries had to buy a bungalow to cope with the expansion.

Ralph Hyde, an English printer, and the third generation of his family involved directly in Christian ministry, committed himself to live in Romania and print The Word For Today.

Next a large print press was purchased which is able to print four times faster than previously. This is a real blessing, as the latest print run of the freely given Word For Today is currently over 100,000. The Romanian edition is now one of the largest circulations in the country and God is truly using it to bless many thousands of people. Lives are being changed and testimonies are frequently received...

The bungalow became very cramped and there was an urgent need to build an extension to the print room at the rear of the building to cope with growth. Over a period of a year, the Lord provided money for this project, and construction of the extension has now been completed (see the Development Page). Also, Ralph now has an assistant to help in the print shop, and this has enabled the print run to continue to increase.

Printing and distributing this free devotional is very costly in Romania, so while Ralph economises by delivering bulk orders by hand, this takes him away from printing and other essential office work. The Albanian and Hungarian copies are delivered by committed supporters in those countries, but some copies have to be posted - which is very expensive. Postal costs in Romania are rising significantly.
